Consulting with Meta

It all started with an idea to create a community based “ARt” Showcase where artists of mixed disciplines can craft a collaborative piece that fosters empathy and compassion through art while showing off the capabilities of immersive technologies.

Using Facebook’s Spark AR as the platform and the creative freedom from Facebook’s Global AR team, I built Meta’s “world effects” launch strategy for Spark AR. Starting in Austin during SXSW, an illustrious group of Graffiti artists and 3D designers would come together for a community-based collaboration - a first of its kind in both scope and scale to seed Facebook’s relationship to community, art, and technology.

The collaboration produced local and national media attention, attracting praise from the Meta executive team for making a truly unique impact with their technology.

Consulting with Meta (Cont’d)

I continued his relationship with Meta when asked to present a synopsis of the growing relationship between digital art and decentralized technologies. I co-presented the materials with my business partner, covering the history of art & provenance, artistic movements shaped by loci and space, and the expansion of decentralization and what it means for Meta’s new business models. The presentation was delivered to Meta’s entire AR/VR team and the presentation notes are available via slideshare.
